Mr. Noell co-founded JMI in 1992 and splits his time between San Diego, California and Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Noell is currently a Director of Authentify, Inc., Axeda Corporation, JME Software, L.L.C, NEON Enterprise Software, Inc. and Scalable Software, Inc. Mr. Noell’s past JMI investment experience includes Bindview Development Corporation, Mission Critical Software, Inc., NEON Systems, Inc., Silicon Energy, Inc. and Transaction Systems Architects, Inc.

Additionally, since late 1991, Mr. Noell has been the President of the family investment company of John J. Moores, the founder and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BMC Software, Inc.  Mr. Noell is currently the Vice Chairman of the San Diego Padres Baseball Club, which is majority owned by Mr. Moores.  Prior to 1991, Mr. Noell was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Alex. Brown’s Technology Group. Prior to Alex. Brown, Mr. Noell was an Investment Associate in the Treasury Division of American Security Bank and at Pittsburgh National Bank.

Mr. Noell graduated from the University of North Carolina and the Harvard Business School.
