Mr. Smith joined JMI in 2000 and is based in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Smith is currently a Director of AirClic, Inc., Appriss, Inc., Gemcom Software, Inc., QuIC Financial Technologies, Inc. and Seismic Micro-Technology, Inc. Mr. Smith’s past JMI investment experience includes Applimation, Inc., Astrum Software Corporation and ServiceBench, Inc. Mr. Smith also serves on the Board of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA).
Prior to joining the Firm in 2000, Mr. Smith was a Principal at ABS Capital Partners and a Vice President in the Technology Investment Banking Group at Alex. Brown. Prior to Alex. Brown, Mr. Smith served as a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Smith graduated from the United States Naval Academy and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
